Clowning around at Circus World Museum

I recently had the honor of being the only photographer invited to shoot inside of the new Circus World Museum exhibit “Caught in the Act” prior to its public unveiling this week.  A creative shoot with circus exhibits, clowns, and the Ringmaster? Where do I sign up!

The shoot also gave me a chance to further field test my new array of Neewer tt850 studio and location flashes as well as some other new gear I have.  The end result?  Circus magic!  Plus, I am sure that some of this work will grace the pages of the book I am currently working on as a follow up to my newly released Shoot to Thrill.  But enough words…I’ll leave the writing for the book.

Thank you to my intrepid circus performers/models:  Greg and Karen the clowns, Erin Thomson the circus performer and tiger tamer, David the Ringmaster, and Scott the Museum Director.  And special thanks to my location team of Krystal Lamberty, Callie Strouf and Bill Johnsen.

Let’s check out the pics!

My new book is out!

Shoot to Thril by Michael MowbrayMy new book, Shoot to Thrill, is officially available! I can’t even begin to describe the feeling of being a newly published author.  I’m totally geeking out and just blew up Facebook and Twitter with posts about it. LOL.  Kudos to Amherst Media for the wonderful job they did in designing and printing the book, and for asking me to write it in the first place…it looks stunning! Special thanks to the team over there: Craig Alesse, Michele Perkins-Kowalewski, Kate Neaverth and anyone else who had a hand in putting this together.  Great work, folks!

Thank you also to the wonderful clients and models who are featured throughout. Without you guys I’d just be another guy with a camera.

And last but not least, thank you to my team of assistants and lighting monkeys over the past few years:  Krystal Lamberty, Olivia Linden, Callie Strouf, Rachel Waldmer, Allison Halkey and Brianna Mowbray.  You guys rock!

Snowy Madison engagement session

Craziest winter on record or what?  After rescheduling their session twice because of weather, we all decided to plow through and photograph on a snowy, cold Saturday morning. What cool images we created with the big puffy flakes coming down! Too bad the cold finally chased us inside because the snow was fun!  Please enjoy some highlights from Jesse and Rebecca’s winter engagement session in Madison.  I promise it will be warmer for your wedding, guys!

Wedding Photography Highlights from 2013

I can believe that 2013 is over already.  What a great year it was, and we had the pleasure of working a bunch of lovely couples. Our weddings took us all over…from Madison to Spring Green, north to Shawano, south to Lake Geneva, east to Sheboygan and all points in between. Please enjoy some of my favorite images gathered together into one highlight video.

Be sure to check out our booth at the Wedding Planner and Guide Madison Bridal Show this weekend.  You can’t miss us:  booth #424 on the center aisle.  Look for the orange brand color!
