Even busy photographers like me make time to get away on a break. So what do I do? I go to Vegas…to attend a photography conference. Damn…just can’t get away from it. LOL. It was actually a little odd to go to Vegas and spend a majority of my time shooting alongside, learning from, and hanging out with great photographers from around the country. The most fun was a jaunt out to a mining ghost town in the middle of nowhere. In fact, I think we passed Nowhere, Nevada on the way TO this place. I piled into a rental van with my buddies Carl Caylor and Dan Frievalt and we were joined by Sherese Bishop from Dallas and Brad Finkeldei from St. Louis. Sherese begrudgingly agreed to model for us. (Actually, since she brought a suitcase full of outfits, I think she really, really wanted to model.) The second day we went out we snagged Kat Bush to join us, too. After getting sandblasted by 50 mph winds the first day we were there we figured we deserved another shot at it.
Here are a few highlights from this trip to Nelson beyond-the-middle-of-nowhere, Nevada. Enjoy.
